Alberto "Beto" Lima
Before he could even tie his own show laces, Alberto Lima was playing soccer in the streets and beaches of Rio de Janeiro Brazil. It wasn’t long before he was winning youth tournaments and earning himself a place in the football squads of C.R.Flamengo, Botafogo F.R. and Bangu A.C.
His talents earned him a soccer scholarship at Barry University in Miami FL, so in 1994, he relocated to the United States where he played for several US league teams in Florida, Colorado, Massachusetts and Texas. He went on to become a long-time member of the U.S. National Beach Soccer team,helping them to victory in the 1998 World Championships in Portugal.
His passion for soccer combined with his love of the beach made him a natural at Foot-volley (volleyball using feet, head, shoulders etc. instead of hands) and he dominated the sport for several years of playing internationally, culminating in a win at the finals of the 2005 World Foot-Volley Championships in South Beach, Miami FL.
After more than two decades as a professional athlete and with countless trophies and awards under his belt, a transition into the world of coaching was a natural progression for Alberto, who applies the wealth of knowledge and experience he has acquired to his personal fitness training and soccer coaching business.
